[ARCHIVED] Planned Shutdown

Planned Shut down of Billerica tertiary process

The Town of Billerica is finishing up it's work on Phase 3 of the Billerica WRRF upgrade. Under 314 CMR 16.04 (1) (b-e) the Town of Billerica WRRF is doing a planned shutdown in conjunction with National Grid, Griffin Electric, Eaton  and Methuen Construction. This shut down will temporarily shut down our tertiary process while electricians work on the new standby generator. The WRRF will still be operating on it's original standby generator during this planned work.

The Town of Billerica WRRF permit number is MA0101711, this shut down can last as long as 8 hours, but is anticipated to be done sooner. The estimated amount of flow that will not be going thru our tertiary process is about 1 million gallons in a 8 hour period. The WRRF discharges to the Concord River.
