[ARCHIVED] Billerica Recreation Celebrates Riverfest at Micozzi Beach

Two events at Micozzi Beach will mark the Recreation Department's involvement in the Sudbury-Assabet-Concord River Stewardship Council in its celebration of RIVERFEST the weekend of June 16 & 17, 2018. Micozzi Beach is located at 586 Middlesex Turnpike, Billerica.   

Saturday, June 16 The Recreation Department joins with the Yankee Bassmasters of New England for their annual Youth Fishing Derby from 8 am - 12 noon which is followed by a barbecue lunch for all young anglers. This free event is open to all regardless of residency.  No licenses are needed for anglers under age 15. Trophies will be awarded in different categories during the lunch.

Sunday, June 17 marks the opening of the Micozzi Beach season with a day of free parking and boat rentals.  Beach hours are 10 am until 7 pm.  Lifeguards are on duty during that time. Beginning June 18, parking fees will be $5 per day or $50 for a season pass that is valid at both Micozzi Beach and the Manning State Park.  Boat rental fees for the remainder of the season will be Canoes, Kayaks $10/hr and Stand Up Paddle Board $15/hr.  Rental hours are 10 AM - 6 PM with the last rental leaving shore no later than 5 pm.  Waivers must be signed by a responsible adult over age 18 and life jackets (available with rentals) ware required to be worn at all times.
