[ARCHIVED] Welcome, Jean Bushnell

The town of Billerica is pleased to welcome Jean Patel Bushnell as the new Director of the Council on Aging. Jean has held several leadership positions designing and implementing services to better the life quality of seniors. Most recently she was Executive Director of the Independent Transportation Network of Greater Boston enrolling over 500 members across 21 towns in Massachusetts to get seniors to medical and non-medical appointments, 24/7/365. In addition Jean has ran an assisted living community , led business development for the VNA of Boston and held several key roles at Lifeline Systems ( now Philips Lifeline). Jean is passionate about the wellness and life quality of seniors and looks forward to working with local aging services agencies, business, healthcare and civic organizations and all her peers at the town level to help seniors in Billerica age in community with dignity and adequate supports.

Town Manager John Curran had this to say about Jean – “ we are truly excited about her energy and rich array of past responsibilities to help us continue to be proactive and creative in supporting the evolving needs of our seniors”.

Jean holds a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She lives in Bedford with her husband Bob. Jean welcomed her first grand-child, Wesley Robert last December. She is an avid gardener and cannot wait to get into the dirt!
