Masonic Hall

June 2023

The Town met with the Food Pantry to finalize the floor plan now that funding was approved at Town Meeting. A few minor tweaks need to take place due to the façade reconstruction. Over the summer months the Town and the Food Pantry need to work out what will happen with distribution during construction at the site.

May 2023

In Spring 2023 Town meeting approved the CPC article to fund $1,000,000 of renovation work for the first floor and $40,000 of renovation work for the front façade of the building.

March 2023

On March 2 the Town hosted the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) at the Masonic Hall for a site visit. The CPC wanted to see the building and better understand the scope of work for the project. This office answered any questions the committee had and was able to highlight important aspects of the project, like pulling in the Northern wall to make the building structurally safe. After the site visit the CPC approved the project during their March 23rd meeting.

January 2023

On December 8, 2022, the Community Preservation Committee found the first-floor renovations of the Masonic Hall to be eligible for CPC funding. The scope of work is to upgrade the utilities, add floor joists, clear out the old Kitchen appliances, remove the stage, and add bathrooms. While the scope of work is limited to the first floor, we will also be pulling in the North Side of the building to ensure the entire structure is safe. On Monday, January 9, 2022, the Select board signed the lease agreement with the Food Pantry during their scheduled meeting.
