Yard Waste

Yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, small sticks, etc.) is collected for 4 weeks during the spring and 6 weeks during the fall. Please see the collection guide for the next scheduled collection period. Yard waste is collected on the same 5-day schedule as trash and recycling.

Yard waste can be placed in biodegradable paper yard waste bags, or trash barrels that are clearly labeled for yard waste. Yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled every year in Billerica on the third Saturday in May and in October at the Department of Public Works yard located at 250 Boston Road. The collection center will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please view the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Flyer for a list of acceptable and unacceptable household hazardous waste.
